22.03.15: Desert

Hey guys,
Last weekend we went for a walk in the desert behind our house. It was raining a little bit lately that's why there were actually some flowers blooming. Normally everything is just an ugly brown and there is only tumbleweed rolling around, but right now it actually looks really pretty. The colors on my picture are not even slightly the colors of how it really looks. The sad thing is that a lot of people dump things that they don't need anymore in the desert, so we walked by a lot of old couches and destroyed cars. I am glad I didn't go alone, I don't think I would have found back, everything looks the same here.
Last week I also cut myself by accident on a broken glass while cleaning the dishes. So I had to go to the emergency room where I had to wait for four hours to get stiches. On Tuesday I went to the church to help serving food to homeless people.
This weekend there was an airshow in Lancaster about 5 minutes from where we live. We sat on the roof and watch the jets perform. It was really cool and sometimes they were so close it was crazy.

09.03.15: Santa Barbara

Hey guys,

It's crazy, it's already March.  Spring finally started. It rained here a few times and it actually has gotten a little bit green even though it's more of a brownish green. Really bright shining flowers are blooming right now. Not far from our house are poppy fields their colors are so bright you can see them from miles away. It's beautiful.
Last Weekend we went to a ballroom competition in which Ahnwyns school participated. There were different kind of dance styles. Ahnwyn and her partner were doing Swing. They were really good and even won first place.
Yesterday we drove to Santa Barbara that's a town on the coast. There was a market along the beach were artists were selling their work. They had some pretty interesting art paintings. Later we went to the shopping street from Santa Barbara. The street is so long and there are so many stores you can't see everything in one day. Unfortunately we had school the next day and couldn't stay longer.
